ROLLERFIT+EMPOWERMENT+CONFIDENCE

MOONSHINE ANNIE

Los Osos native Annie “Moonshine” Turner grew from skating the roller rink in Rainbow Brite ponytails, to running cross country & track, and captaining the first girls’ waterpolo team in Morro Bay. After graduating from MBHS in ‘99, she played club water polo in the Netherlands before attending the University of Hawaii Manoa where she earned her BA in English literature. On Oahu, Annie fell in love with yoga while continuing her passion for ocean sports.  She earned her credential from Cal Poly in 2006, which lead her to her career in teaching while coaching water polo, cross country, track & field, yoga, and Powder Puff Football. Ms. Turner traded in her running shoes for roller skates in 2016 and joined Central Coast Roller Derby. Moonshine was rookie of the year in 2016, rostered as jammer for CCRD’s all-star team SK805 in 2017, scored the most points as jammer in 2018, and earned MVP in 2019. After skating over 3,000 miles during the pandemic, Moonshine returned to derby in 2022 with the highest Lead Jammer percentage and most points score for her league, CCRD. She also was a trainer and the head of the League Training Committee until recently retiring from Roller Derby in 2023. Moonshine currently teaches RollerFit to share her love of movement and fitness. She is happy to spread empowerment and confidence through RollerFit at Omni Studios.
