I see every move as an exercise and every exercise as a move. String enough moves together, and you have a workout. I am a patient and thoughtful and pain free personal trainer who prefers we all work out in bare feet. It’s not a requirement. I do approach each session with several “global” movements (moves we all make) to assess how you can make them personally yours. It’s not simply you lifting weights and performing planks and me counting; when you train with me, it is about mastering your own body’s ability to function, without pain, in daily life. With that as the foundation, we can simultaneously work on the specific things you’re looking to achieve, be it weight loss, increased balance and mobility, better performance and so forth.
I was hired on as an “aerobics instructor” by Kennedy Club Fitness, known at the time as Kennedy Nautilus Center. An unexpected and FUN career was born, and took me all over SLO County, teaching in my leg warmers and using vinyl records I quickly learned to change without students missing a beat! I have been a continuing education provider for the American College of Exercise. I was one of the first instructors to be certified by I.D.E.A., the International Dance and Exercise Foundation, which gave birth to ACE! I eagerly embraced the first step classes, and the first indoor cycling classes on the scene. For nearly 20 years I lived in the city of San Francisco, taking part in some of the first TRX suspension training sessions offered, and gave training sessions to instructors learning how to work with the Reebok Core Board, one of the first balance training tools before BOSU balls made it to the stage. I managed multiple fitness departments for clubs such as Pismo Beach Athletic Club, The SportsClub/LA- San Francisco, The YMCA and Equinox, and in 2016, I returned to my hometown, Baywood Park.
My passion for teaching and training has never waivered. These days I am writing my fitness stories!! And while I aim to post a new workout once a week to my YouTube page, I mostly spend time working with my one on one clients, live and in person, sometimes via zoom, or researching ways I can make their movements easier. I look forward to hearing from you. Let’s see if we are a fit.
